Seminar toimub ruumis ICT-315.
The use of Agent Oriented Analysis to facilitate knowledge analysis and transfer in complex settings is a non-traditional way of using the agent based paradigm. The final outcome in this context is not necessarily an agent based software system, rather a knowledge rich interface between two software components or between a human user and a software system. I will show the effectiveness of agent oriented analysis from this point view in two domains of applications illustrating each case. The two cases come from industry collaborations in Australia. The first is in modelling of complex Disaster Management scenarios in collaboration with a an emergency management agency and the second is in developing an IoT based interface.
Ghassan Beydoun is a Professor of Information Systems and Deputy Head, Research, at the School of Information, Systems and Modelling at the University of Technology Sydney. He received a degree in computer engineering and a PhD degree in knowledge systems from the University of New South Wales. His research interests include complex systems modelling, distributed decision support systems and knowledge analysis. He has been applying his results in developing decision support systems for disaster management, multi-agent systems, e-learning systems and other areas. Among other projects, he has worked on a project funded by the Australian Research Council Discovery Grant to investigate the best uses of domain knowledge in developing methodologies for complex systems and at the same time working on decision support systems on exploring the use of ontologies for flood management decision support. Prof Beydoun has also worked on the project "Blockchain technology to empower Australian healthcare system". He has authored more than 100 journal and conference papers in these areas over the past 15 years. His most recent publications have appeared in Information and Management, Information Systems Frontiers, IEEE Transactions of Software Engineering, Information Systems Journal, International Journal of Human Computer Studies, Information Processing and Management, and other high-impact research journals. Prof Beydoun serves on the board of a number of international journals including International Journal of Intelligent Information Technologies (IJIIT), and Journal of Software.
